Matthew was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He has spent most of his life in Grande Prairie with only two years spent away in Edmonton, Alberta. After returning to Grande Prairie from Edmonton, Matthew briefly worked in the oilfield and then made the decision to pursue a career as a mortgage broker. After working as a mortgage broker, Matthew decided that he wanted to go back to school and study in a business-related field.
Matthew started the business administration program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in 2017 and found that he excelled in accounting-related courses. Matthew completed his Business Administration Diploma in Accounting with honours from NAIT in May of 2018 and was hired by Fulcrum Group shortly thereafter in June 2018.
While working at Fulcrum Group, Matthew obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration (accounting concentration) with honours and achieved a 4.0 GPA (the highest possible grade point average) before completing his CPA designation with the firm. Currently, Matthew is enrolled in the In-Depth Tax program and is looking forward to working with our tax team at the office.
Matthew enjoys working with clients to help them with their financial journey by helping them implement various accounting systems and applications. Matthew also enjoys working with his colleagues at Fulcrum Group and provides support wherever he is needed.
Matthew has a wife and two children and enjoys spending as much time with them as possible. Matthew’s hobbies include snowboarding, skiing, tennis, and being outside with his family.
